the executive team

The executive team overseas the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the GPCA. Working closely with university staff, students, and industry partners, the team coordinates events, manages club operations, and ensures the association continues to provide meaningful opportunities for psychology and counselling students throughout the year.

Ethan Marriot | President

Ethan is in his third year of a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours). He works part time as a receptionist at a local psychology clinic, and wants to become a clinical psychologist himself one day. Ethan’s drive to make this the best year for the GPCA is often what brings events to life. Outside of psychology, he enjoys playing soccer and has over thirteen years experience on the field.

Sophie Chapman | Vice President & Secretary

Sophie is in her second year of a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours). She works part time as an allrounder at a local hotel, and aspires to create and facilitate brain injury treatment plans in the future. Sophie’s organisation and attention to detail helps push events from ideas to realistic plans. Outside of psychology, she likes travelling. Sophie has explored ten countries and wants to travel many more.

Halle Wiblen | Treasurer

Halle is in her third year of a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours). She works part time as a sessional marker at Griffith University, is accredited in Mental Health First Aid, and is training to become a counsellor. She wants to become a clinical psychologist one day. Halle’s understanding of the financial side of running a club means we can make things happen. Outside of psychology, she enjoys nature and animals, often finding new to befriend.

Mali Robinson | Social Media Manager

Mali is currently studying a Diploma of Psychological Sciences. She works part time as a Business coordinator at a local psychology clinic and helps manage multiple social media accounts. Mali’s experience with current trends and her understanding of people helps the club market our events. Outside of psychology, she enjoys helping her mother run a nail tech business.

Tanya Dcruz

Tanya is a big believer. Her faith and optimism helps drive her and brings heart to the people around her.

behind the scenes

what we do

  • Event planning and coordination
  • Student engagement initiatives
  • Partnerships and sponsorships
  • Academic support activities
  • Marketing and communications
  • Membership engagement
  • Community outreach

Every event begins months before students see it on campus. Throughout each trimester, our team works together to brainstorm ideas, coordinate with university staff and industry professionals, secure venues, manage budgets, organise marketing campaigns, and ensure every detail is planned. From networking nights and workshops to social events and study sessions, countless hours of preparation go into creating experiences that help psychology and counselling students connect, learn, and thrive.
